Château La Naudine red

A delicate, elegant, aromatic, fruity wine with a fine oakiness
For the red the dominant grape variety is the merlot (60%), this blackberry and cherry tasting red fruit, which evoluates toward the acid like fruit drop during fermentation. The cabernet franc brings cherry and liquorice aromas whereas the cabernet sauvignon brings blackcurrant aromas. The clay of the Castres-Gironde village gives these aromas and undergrowth overtones; the gravel of Portets produces the power and concentration that bring to perfection the balance of the wine. The aging in barrels adds to the wine toasted vanilla moka and sometimes chocolate aromas.
These wines are for drinking young between 3 to 7 yeras depending on the vintages. The 2000 and 2005 vintages can be kept 10 years.

After a while the primary fruit aromas give place to tertiary aromas of evolution, complex and suttle. As good on raw meat, or a perfumed dish with gravy as on simple pasta. With desserts such as red fruit tarts or chocolate and cofee cakes. In sum a wine for many occasions.
